Share a program
Send students a link. It opens the program on the step you choose, and they step through it from there.
Make a link
- Open the visualizer. Pick one of the examples, or press Edit code, write or paste your own program, and press Visualize.
- Step to where you want students to start.
- Press Share, then Copy next to Link.
Post the link anywhere students will see it: your class website, an assignment, an email or a slide.
Choose where it opens
In the Share box, Opens at sets where students start:
- this step: the step you're on now.
- the start: before the first line runs, so students see the whole program unfold.
- the last step: where the program ends, or where an error shows. Good for "why did this crash?" questions.
What students can do
Students don't need an account. They can step forward and back, drag the slider, and read the sentence that explains each step. They can also press Edit code to change the program and run their own version. That never changes your link.
Anything the program needs to run goes with it: the Program input you typed, the Files you added, and any stopping points.
Short links and full links
Links are short by default, like codeflip.dev/s/Ab3xK9pQ2z, because CodeFlip saves the program. Short links never expire, and sharing the same program twice gives the same link.
To keep the program off CodeFlip, uncheck Short link. You get a longer link that holds the whole program in itself. It works the same way, but it can be too long for some places, such as text messages.
